Under the Knife Post Production began as a creative collaboration between Brian Hathaway, Shawn P. Mitchell and Matt Barton. They have over 30 years of combined experience in the production and post production process. Their goal was to set up a post production facility with a relaxed environment that caters to "outside the box" thinking. In accordance with mega corporation Google's "20 Percent Time" model, UTK encourages its staff, partners and interns to take some time each day and learn or create something new. Their employees are always challenging themselves to stay abreast on the latest advances in this ever expanding market, resulting in a better final product for their client.
In addition to UTK's full time staff, Under the Knife has established and developed professional partnerships with the top creative minds and artists in each individual discipline of the production and post production process. They facilitate and manage high end visual effects, 3D, compositing, color correction and overall digital cleanups. UTK also manages their clients media distribution needs with file conversions and media uploads for television and web trafficking.
One of UTK's largest assets is utilizing up and coming young talent through internships with local colleges. They have implemented tutoring and mentoring programs allowing them to train the next generation of editors, while keeping their fingers on the pulse of the latest trends and advancements.
Under the Knife has multiple Avid, FCP, FCPX and Premiere editing workstations. These stations are also loaded down with programs like After Effects, Smoke, Nuke, C4D and Shake making them the most up to date, industry standard, software and hardware machines available.
